As a Backend Developer, you will contribute to the development of Marble’s geospatial data platform that enables users to access, search, and analyse large volumes of satellite imagery and Earth Observation analytics. You will design and implement backend services that support the ingestion, cataloguing, and delivery of geospatial datasets and derived analytics products. Your work will focus on building reliable APIs, efficient data services, and backend infrastructure capable of handling large Earth Observation datasets and supporting advanced geospatial applications.Your main tasks:- Design and implement backend services for accessing and managing large Earth Observation datasets- Develop APIs and services that enable search, retrieval, and processing of geospatial data products- Contribute to the development and operation of a cloud-deployed geospatial data portal providing access to satellite imagery and analytics products- Integrate and support analytics engines and geospatial processing services that power data analysis and insights within the platform- Implement and maintain geospatial data catalog services (e.g. STAC), efficient access to large raster datasets such as Cloud Optimized GeoTIFFs (COGs), and to vector datasets- Deploy and maintain backend services using containerized cloud infrastructure (e.g. Docker/Kubernetes)- Collaborate with frontend developers and data scientists to enable seamless access to EO data and analytics capabilities- Ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability of backend services and cloud-based infrastructure
